Autumn Cleanse Results for a First Timer and Others

Deep colors in an Autumn Cleanse

Deep colors in an Autumn Cleanse

Sometimes I think the best person to explain the benefits of a Cleanse Diet is a newcomer. That’s because many people who hear of a Cleanse worry that they will have nothing to eat, or the food will be awful, or they will need to take costly supplements or have colonics. While there are Cleanses that advocate extreme measures, here at Wellness and You we believe a week of self care with food and personal care reaps powerful results. We run a Cleanse three times yearly -a Post Holiday Cleanse, a Spring Cleanse and an Autumn Cleanse. Post Holiday Cleanse resets your habits and biology after holiday festivities, Spring helps you adjust to weather and time changes (and allergies!) and Autumn prepares you for Winter.

I’d like you to see what a newcomer described during her first Wellness and You cleanse in Autumn 2019. She clearly tuned into her body rhythms and made a few discoveries.

Thank you so much for this cleanse!  I never gave up my one cup of coffee a day with palm sugar, but otherwise did well.
For the couple of weeks preceding the cleanse I felt so tired.  I’m feeling more energetic now, and this has been a reset for me.  I don’t intend to stop, trying to keep my diet easy and clean.  Food has always been my go-to drug, and I still eat portions that are too big, but I’m eating slower and chewing more - woohoo!
I like the simplicity of the way you present a healthy way to eat.  I’ve purchased your book, and will be trying more of your recipes.  I actually cooked today! - K.B.

So far so good! I had red wine and ice cream on Friday night and don’t seem to miss either. I’m sleeping better and deeper and although I feel more alert and productive, I seem to be a bit off or tired?” ”That could be the withdrawal from caffeine or the detox in general?”
I’m also not that hungry and therefore not consuming as much since I really have no cravings yet I am eating less but really hydrating!
I’m having applesauce, fruit, salads/bowls with rice, quinoa, garbanzo beans & hummus assorted veggies. Will make  a smoothie today and have some soup and portobello mushrooms soon.
I had a bit of feta and experienced some flatulence so maybe it’s from that little bit of dairy or the intake of all the fiber?  I may avoid that now so when I introduce it later I’ll know if it’s the culprit!
I’m 4 lbs lighter too, while meditating, walking and some yoga.
The strangest thing to me is the lack of cravings (or appetite) as you noted with the sugary treats and that I feel more fluid and less stiff!”

Thank you for all the information you are sending my way.  I really started the cleanse on Saturday.  I’ve omitted all caffeine, sugar (except a little dark chocolate), any white flour and anything else on your list.  I’ve been eating steel oats for breakfast, roasted/sauteed vegetables (sweet potatoes, beets, butternut squash), some kale & spinach, brown rice with some kidney beans, quinoa, some almonds & walnuts, dried cranberries & raisins (raisins give me gas) a few pears and apples, water and herbal tea.
I’m feeling OK but actually my energy level is low.  I think perhaps I’m missing enough protein?  I normally eat chicken, fish and eggs along with salads and veggies. actually lots of protein - whole grains. beans nuts and green veggies. started right after change from daylight savings/ J.O.

Finished on Sunday.  My sinuses are much clearer than they have been in a while, since I did not have any dairy.  Lost 4 pounds!!! Yea…. D.R.

When will you try a 7 Day Cleanse?

Surprise yourself and see the results you get from a Cleanse. One of the key principles in Cleansing is to think of it as a benefit to you and your body, not as a hardship. When you shift your thinking and embrace all the benefits a Cleanse can give you, you’ll wonder why you waited so long.

Follow this link to stay in touch with the upcoming Cleanse dates. There will be one right after the holidays.
