Spring Cleanse Grocery List

Health Concerns?

If you have any medical issues you should always check with yourhealth care professionals before undertaking any  change in your diet.

The following foods are seasonal and are best recommended for Spring cleansing.  Choose the ones you like best and eat them often.  Buy organic whenever you can for the cleanse; after that, if you want to buy some conventional foods, refer to ewg.org and their dirty dozen for a list of foods that are best eaten organic and those that are acceptable as conventional.

It's best to lean heavily toward the green vegetables all through Spring, but include others that you enjoy like carrots, radishes, and beets.  The deep colors and tangy flavors are especially healthy.

A simple coding appears on small labels attached to fruits. Refer to the first number on the code to identify the way the fruit was grown:

4xxx  = conventionally grown (chemical fertilizers and pesticides)

8xxx = genetically modified (the basic DNA has been modified)

9xxx = organically grown  (USDA organic label = no chemical fertilizers or pesticides_
