It's what you want, isn't it? The question is - how do you really stay healthy? It can be quite complicated to predict who will remain healthy and who will not, but there are certain actions you can take that puts staying healthy in your favor. One of them, no doubt, is the food you eat.
Staying Healthy with Food
What does that mean, exactly? The simplest way of summing it up is to use the phrase of Michael Pollan, author of Food Rules and other books. He says "Eat real food, mostly plants, not too much."
Healthy Aging and Food
Keeping your body running optimally requires incoming energy, and that comes from absorption of nutrients and from the oxygen you inhale. If you are eating simple whole foods your body has an easy time absorbing the nutrients in that food. When nutrients are absorbed easily, you get the benefits of those nutrients in every part of your body.
Here are the basics for staying healthy with food:
1. plan your meals and shop for the ingredients
2. eat at home as much as you can so you know what is in your food
.3 avoid refined sugar and trans fats as much as possible; replace refined sugar with sweet fruits and vegetables and dark chocolate and replace trans fat with olive oil and small portions of organic butter.
Healthy eating is not difficult; it simply requires some effort. Are you willing to put effort into staying healthy? If so, start with eating healthy and enjoy the results.
